These Black Belts are in our hearts but have chosen different paths

Penelope Arey, has earned her Black Belt after more than 20 years in the art of Kempo karate. We are all tremendously proud
of Peney for all she has accomplished. She is no normal black belt. Peney has had to work harder and overcome more obstacles
(blindness from birth and dyslexia) that would ordinarily discourage most people from ever starting. As Hanshi Seavey (one
of Sifu Dwire's Teachers) stated, it is based on "Individual Excellence in the Martial Arts." In Peney's case, this couldn't
hold more truth.

This was one of the hardest tests to date. The test was held at Dragon-Phoenix Martial Arts Lowell/Chelmsford.
Administering the test was Sigung Rudy Duncan, Master Jesse E. Dwire IV, Sensei Paul Castagno and many other Senseis’
of the DPMA family. These students earned
their ranks through a rugged physical and mental test. I am very proud of my students they have shown that hard work
and commitment pays off in the end. One fact must be made; none of this could have happened without all of the instructors
who make up DPMA. A side note. Sensei Paul Castagno who is the Chief instructor of the Natick
school is doing an excellent job and it shows in his students. Thank you sir.
In Peace
M.D.
