Objective: Brown 3rd is often the point at which the student truly sees
the proverbial light at the end of the black belt tunnel. As instructors, we begin preparing the student for the role of black
belt at Dragon-Phoenix Martial Arts. Brown 3rd is the where the students starts to learn the 1st required weapon form in the
system, although this will not be tested on until black belt the basics of this form take time to master. During the brown
belt stage, students who wish to teach one day may be required to spend extra time in the dojo, not only for added instruction,
but also to learn administrative functions of the school.
Required Information: Start of Shusi-No-Kon-Sho, You will have 10 animal
techniques before 2nd brown
Strikes Rams head, Blood Palms (both methods)
Kicks: Snake,
inverted snake, wheel, shin,
Jumping side and Front ball
Self-Defense Techniques: Defense off of all knife angle strikes. Defense to the 6 knife
slashes and extensions
Combinations: 1, 20, 26
Forms: 3 kata, start of 4 kata.
